Peer Review Blog

We have now tried peer reviewing for the first time. We had to watch another groups film and review it. The film we watched had only one group-member. His was about him and his family going out to sea to have fun, but then he gets attacked by a shark. His film was constructed in a very good way making it easy to follow along and understand what was happening. His titles could be seen clearly and had nice transitions. I liked many things about his film like his choice of music. Also how it fit what was happening and increased the suspense. It was the perfect volume and didn't interfere with the plot. The ending of the film was great because it left me wanting more due to the cliffhanger.
Although his film was very impressive, I do have some suggestions so he can improve his film. There were three issues that I saw during the review but their minor. One was the size of the shots. When the shot switched to the scenes filled with fish and sharks the size of the shot decreased in size a little bit. This distracted from the plot a bit so I definitely think he should make it so the shots fill up the whole screen throughout the film. Then came a scene with random people kayaking through the canal. He could easily fix this issue by just reshooting it when no one is around or get an angle without them. Lastly, the shots and angles. He did not meet the requirements for them, missing at least half the shots and angles. I would say he filmed to much of the ocean and very little of the actors. Overall he did an amazing job and just has to fix some minor things.
